8:30am: To begin the My Tho – Ben Tre 1day tour, our HTS Tour guide will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to My Tho City by air-conditioned vehicle. The vehicle travels through peaceful villages, far away from the bustling city life, and you will arrive in My Tho City around 10:00am.
On arrival in My Tho you will travel by boat for a overview of the floating fish houses, then undertake a motorised boat cruise to discover Phoenix Island (Con Phung) in Ben Tre province, this province is the home of many coconut industries, with many different products for sale.
Around 12:00 pm enjoy lunch on the island, with a variety of delicious dishes to choose from, including the local specialty, deep fired Elephant Ear fish.
After lunch is the time to explore some amazing Mekong canals in a small motorised boat, which cruises along natural creeks and past quiet villages on the river banks. Take a visit to the productive orchards, a bee keeping house, enjoy honey tea, and some sweet tropical fruits as you listen to some traditional Southern music, before taking a relaxing horse cart ride through peaceful villages. You then board a sampan boat and journey along some narrow creeks bordered by mangrove palms and water coconut trees.
Visit a coconut candy factory and see the production process, and around 3:00pm rejoin your vehicle for the road trip back to Ho Chi Minh City. On the return journey you will drop by the Mekong Rest Stop for short break.
Around 5pm the tour ends back at your hotel.
