Duration: 2 Days / 1 Night
Our guide: English speaking guide.
Visiting the UNESCO site of Trang An and cruising down the Trang An River by paddle boat. In the ancient former capital-city of Hoa Lu, explore the enchanting tombs and ruins. Undertake light trekking in the Cuc Phuong National Park; with an opportunity to learn about the local fauna.

Day 1: Hanoi – Hoa Lu – Trang An

Your guide and driver will meet you at 8:am. You will then embark on a journey south for about 100 kms to Hoa Lu, the ancient capital of the Dinh and Le dynasties dating back to the 11th century. Having been eroded over the years, the dilapidated ruins have nearly been absorbed by the spectacular jungle, creating a mystical atmosphere that will be sure to set your imagination running. After lunch in a local restaurant you will continue to nearby Trang An, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its outstanding natural beauty and the scenic karst formations. These contribute to its reputation as being the “Halong Bay on Land.” Board a small boat and meander lazily down the peaceful river while passing through a series of caves, enjoying the sounds of soaring birds overhead and paddling along the crystal-clear waters of the river. Jagged limestone hills jutting skyward from the green rice paddies will be sure to bring out the photographer in you. We then return our homestay in the afternoon for a shower and dinner. Stay overnight at the very simple homestay.

Day 2: Trang An – Cuc Phuong National Park – Hanoi

After breakfast and 9:00 we will head up to Cuc Phuong National Park, where we will be taking some enjoyable trekking within the Park (insect and reptile spotting along the way), visit to the Botanical Gardens and the oldest forest in Vietnam, then after lunch in the National Park you have a small rest and free time to walk around before returning to Hanoi, arriving about 5:30 PM.

Before your departure, please make sure you read our “What to bring & tips” and other important notes for trekking and summer travel in Vietnam.
INFORMATION Experience: Trekking in tropical rainforests is very different then trekking in temperate or other forests. First, it is hot and wet. Second, leeches and mosquitoes are common. Finally, Cuc Phuong is located in an area with steep limestone mountains, so trekking can become difficult because of the sharp rocky.

For the last three years, each and every time I landed in Ha Noi or left town from the airport I have been using this service provider through Anna.

Booking is simple, effective, never had a late driver and cars I have had were always impeccable (no comparison with regular taxis or Grab). As soon as you pay you immediately get a detailed receipt and most if not all credit cards are accepted.

The price is higher than the Hanoi <=> Airport public bus but in the same range or cheaper than taxis and Grab who will always find excuses to bump their price frequently to very unreasonable levels.

So far, an excellent service from Anna’s prompt responses to pickup and safe driving by smiling drivers.

We used Hanoi Transfer Service for all of our transfers during our trip, including Hanoi, Da Nang and Hoi An. They were a pleasure to deal with at every step, they were always on time and their vehicles were clean, well maintained and well driven. Even when I thought I had left my Kindle in the vehicle they were very responsive and supportive.

Price request

No issues. The service was safe and reliable. They even arranged a last minute pickup. Lily, the assistant, was very helpful. I would recommend and will take again.
